Responsibilities
Screed and finish concrete surfaces using trowels and other tools to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish. Apply different textures, such as broom or stamped finishes, based on project specifications.
Cut control joints and apply surface protection to prevent cracking and ensure long-term durability of the concrete.
Prepare and grade surfaces before pouring concrete to ensure proper leveling and drainage, and assist in setting forms for accurate alignment.
Commuting to and from local job sites
Work with the team to flawlessly complete each procedure from pouring to finishing concrete flatwork
Implement the proper safety standards and procedures following the OSHA guidelines
Assist in loading, unloading, and hauling equipment and materials to the job site
Weekly meetings with superiors focusing on progress reports and areas of improvement
Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
Depending on the weather, work starts around the end of March/beginning of April and runs throughout the year with layoff around Christmas
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of concrete finishing experience
Ability to work in team based environments
Willing to train apprentices and lead a team
Have a strong work ethic and perform continuous physical labor
Must have a valid driver's license
Ability to pass a drug and physical labor test
Must be a motivated individual with a positive attitude
Must be able to work in all weather conditions
Average 40-45 hours a week
