Job Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to identify critical performance scenarios and KPIs.
• Design and develop performance test scripts in IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT) with proper correlation and parameterization.
• Configure test environments, load generators, and data pools to simulate real-world usage.
• Plan and execute load, stress, spike, scalability, and endurance tests.
• Monitor application, server, database, and network metrics during test runs.
• Detect, troubleshoot, and document performance bottlenecks such as slow APIs, inefficient queries, or resource constraints.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, DBAs, and DevOps teams to resolve issues and recommend tuning strategies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of failures and validate fixes through retesting.
• Generate and maintain reusable scripts for ongoing regression and continuous performance testing.
• Prepare clear test result reports (graphs, KPIs, trends) for project managers and stakeholders.
• Provide input on performance requirements and SLAs during design and planning stages.
• Ensure test data integrity and compliance with data-security and privacy standards.
• Contribute to team best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing on RPT and related tools.
• Stay up to date with new RPT features, performance-testing methodologies, and emerging APM/monitoring tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with IBM RPT for scripting and executing performance tests.
• Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, databases, and application servers.
• Familiarity with monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana).
• Proficiency in interpreting test results, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending optimizations.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
